ESYNOLA Updates

This summer, while schools were closed and the city was sheltering-in-place, ESYNOLA gardens were still growing strong. With the expertise of our garden staff, and the help and generosity of volunteers, neighbors, and members of the school communities, our gardens were weeded, watered, and cared for during the strenuous summer months. In addition, ESYNOLA staff stayed busy producing a series of cookbooks featuring favorite ESYNOLA recipes that are easy for families to make with their children. Staff also produced more than 60 instructional videos, featuring lessons on everything from garden maintenance to culinary adventures.

With the return to in-person learning, ESYNOLA staff have resumed classes for Pre-K through 4th-grade students at Wheatley, Green, and LHA, and Ashe has begun piloting a new model of ESYNOLA programming and special events benefitting all students and staff.
