
Culture, Community & Connection in 2024
Our first semester was filled with many events and celebrations across the FirstLine network. Samuel J. Green hosted its second annual Fathers Matter NOLA breakfast, fostering meaningful discussions about fatherhood. Phillis Wheatley Community School celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with cultural festivities including food, music, and arts. Ashe students engaged with former NOLA-PS Superintendent Dr. Avis Williams and content creator The Conscious Lee in a special Town Hall edition of the Voices of Future Leaders podcast. LHA students saw double, as scholars and staff participated in their annual Twin Day!

In collaboration with Fathers Matter NOLA, at Samuel J. Green, fathers united to usher in a new day of learning for the second year! Over breakfast, together, they got to sit and discuss the importance of fatherhood.

Wheatley Families Unite in Joyful Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration
Families at Phillis Wheatley came together for a vibrant Hispanic Heritage Month celebration in October! Families enjoyed delicious cultural food, fun games, arts & crafts, and lively music that filled the school. It was a heartwarming reminder of the rich tapestry of cultures that make our Wheatley community so special.
