Exciting Growth in the Arts!
We are thrilled to share some fantastic news about the continued growth of arts enrichment programs at FirstLine Schools! Thanks to the generosity of our community partners, we have received two significant grant awards that will directly enhance opportunities for our students.
The New Orleans Tourism and Cultural Fund awarded FirstLine $40,000 to support band programs across all four sites. These funds allowed our schools to purchase new band materials, update uniforms, and make much-needed instrument repairs and replacement, ensuring our students can continue developing their musical talents with the best possible resources.
Additionally, we are honored to have received a $10,000 grant from the New Orleans Theatre Association to elevate the network’s talented theatre program. This funding has supported top tier student training, set dressing and design, costumes, and other incidentals to ensure a highly organized and professional production.
Additionally, we are excited to invite the public to experience the hard work and creativity of our talented theatre and visual art students during The Little Mermaid, Jr. – performances take place April 11th and 12th at Langston Hughes Academy!
