Glenda Baylis Named Ashe School Director

Glenda BaylisFirstLine Schools is thrilled to announce that Glenda Baylis has accepted an offer to be the new School Director of Ashe. Glenda brings over 20 years of education experience and a track record of success in instructional leadership roles.

Most recently, Glenda has served as the Middle School Principal at Ashe, where she has fostered a positive learning environment and worked to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families. Prior to that, Glenda was the Assistant Principal and School Leadership Fellow at Langston Hughes Academy from 2017 to 2020.

A certified educational leader, Glenda earned her Instructional Leadership Certification from the National Principal Academy Training at Relay Graduate School of Education in 2018. She also holds an Educational Leader Certification from Advance Innovative Education (AIE) in 2019 and a Master’s Degree in Urban Education from Southern University at New Orleans in 2006.

Throughout her career, Glenda has demonstrated expertise in growing great teachers, classroom management, leadership, data analysis, team-building, and student-centered learning. She is passionate about ensuring achievement through a rigorous curriculum aligned with state standards.

Glenda has most recently been named a semifinalist for the Louisiana Department of Education’s Principal of the Year and is the only semifinalist for Orleans Parish.
