Arthur Ashe Charter School

Arthur Ashe serves 797 students in grades K to 8 in the Gentilly neighborhood. In 2022, Ashe students saw growth from their 2020-21 scores in all of their four core subjects in the categories of Basic and  Mastery. Some of their highest areas of growth included a 14% increase in Math in the category of Basic and a 9.9% increase in ELA in the category of Mastery. Arthur Ashe was recognized by NOLA-PS as one of the top five schools with the largest increase in Mastery+ rate throughout the city of New Orleans.

Samuel J. Green Charter School

Samuel J. Green serves 498 students in grades PreK to 8 in the heart of the Freret neighborhood. In 2022, Green students saw growth from their 2020-21 scores in all of their four core subjects in the categories of Basic and Mastery. Some of their highest areas of growth included a 13.3% increase in Math in the category of Basic and a 12.9% increase in ELA in the category of Mastery. Samuel J. Green was recognized by NOLA-PS as one of the top five schools with the largest increase in Mastery+ rate throughout the city of New Orleans.

Langston Hughes Academy

Langston Hughes Academy serves 745 students in grades PK to 8 and is located in the Fairgrounds neighborhood. In 2022, LHA students saw growth from their 2020-21 scores in all of their four core subjects in the category of Basic. Some of their highest areas of growth in Basic included an 11.2% increase in Math and an 11.7% increase in ELA. LHA students also saw growth in the category of Mastery with a 5.6% increase in ELA.

Phillis Wheatley Community School

Phillis Wheatley serves 498 students in grades PreK to 8 in the Treme neighborhood. In 2021, Wheatley was recognized by the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) for their literacy gains with the inaugural Louisiana Models of Excellence Award. This award was created to acknowledge, honor, and spotlight schools serving as exemplary models for implementing the LDOE’s Believe to Achieve educational priorities that lead to student success. In 2022, LHA students saw growth in ELA and Math in the category of Basic from their 2020-21 scores.
