A program of Joseph S. Clark Preparatory High School, NOLA Tech offers a compelling pathway for students interested in pursuing a career directly after high school graduation. The program allows students to obtain a high school diploma and technical certificate concurrently, plus earn college credit while in high school. NOLA Tech addresses our city’s workforce needs by offering students the skills and workplace experience needed to prepare them for employment.
Personalized Learning Project
Our Personalized Learning Project aims to improve student achievement through individualized instruction using new technologies. Students spend up to 20% of their school day learning at their own pace and focusing on their particular needs in small groups and on computers. Personalized learning provides teachers with ongoing assessment information on each student so that they can respond to specific learning needs.
Teacher Prep Day
FirstLine prepares all of its graduates for college and fulfilling careers. This means building the skillfulness of our teaching staff, so we make professional development a priority. FirstLine created Teacher Prep Day in 2015 to foster innovation, collaboration, and engaging opportunities for professional development. Teacher Prep Day provides intensive weekly collaborative planning and professional development for lead teachers across the network with the aim of ensuring rigorous and engaging classes every day. This new practice has resulted in an average improvement of 10% in teacher performance map scores.
